About Us

North Texas Detachment #862

The North Texas Detachment #862, Department of Texas, Marine Corps League was chartered in 1993 in Grand, TX, relocated to Lewisville, TX, and proudly serves the Denton County area.


We serve Marines, Navy FMF Corpsmen, active duty personnel, veterans and their families in their times of need.

MCL National

Founded in 1923 by Major General John Lejeune, the League presently has a membership of over 60,000 men and women in ~1100 local Detachments.


The Marine Corps League is a 501(c)(4) Group Non-Profit (Title 36 of the United States Code)

Founded May 21, 1970, the Department of Texas is responsible for oversight of organizational units called detachments throughout the state of Texas.


Each year a group of Officers are elected at the state convention that govern the direction of the department for the following year.

Mission


The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.


Goal


The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children.

Promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps.


Strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families.


Serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor.


Foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
